The longest-reigning in Iranian history, he reigned for the entirety of his 70-year life, from 309 to 379 (70 years), It was extremely rare for a monarch to reign entirely of his life in ancient times, most roman emperors would reign an average of 8 years, his coincided with one of the best of roman emperors Constantine the Great.

The main design has been hand-drawn in black, Sassanians were among the first governments which minted high-value heavier gold coins.

Written below the main design is 𐭱𐭧𐭯𐭥𐭧𐭥𐭩 in Sassanian mother tongue it sounds Šābuhr, Shapour.

Regarded as one of the most illustrious Sasanian kings, sources say in his height, nothing on earth was his equal, in beauty, power, spirit, and wealth.
